These resources include both general definitions and explainers, and guides to navigating specific University of Manchester information governance processes for NIHR BRC: Manchester researchers.
Some documents require a University of Manchester Central Authentication Service (CAS) username and password to access. If you do not have a CAS login and need to access the documents, please contact BRC.IG@manchester.ac.uk.

University of Manchester links and signposting
Policies and guidance that govern use of University IT systems. Topics include information security classification and data handling, the information governance risk review process, and the technical security standards.
ZendTo is a way of sending (or “dropping off”) files to users both within and outside The University of Manchester (UoM). By selecting the option to encrypt every file, you are also permitted to use it to send data that the University classifies as highly restricted. This includes personal or confidential data. ZendTo is not a cloud service: all files are stored on University servers. UoM users (i.e. those with a University email address) can “drop off” files for people inside and outside the university. Non-UoM users can only “drop off” files for UoM users.
The University of Manchester (UoM) offers a Highly Restricted Data Service (HDRS) for secure storage of data classified as restricted or highly restricted, and for hosting of web platforms. The HRDS team sits within Research IT and is very experienced in supporting research and provides an end-to-end service. Please note that some HDRS functions are chargeable and early engagement is highly recommended.
