Fozia Ahmed graduated from The University of Manchester in 2003 and undertook specialist training in cardiology in the North West region.

In 2015, Fozia was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, where she specialises in heart failure and cardiac devices. Between 2015 and 2024, she was NIHR Specialty Co-lead for Cardiovascular Research in Greater Manchester. Committed to the need to deliver diverse and inclusive research that improves the lives of people, she is currently Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead for the NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre and NIHR Manchester Clinical Research Facility.

Fozia’s research interests include remote monitoring in heart failure, obesity and inflammation in heart failure and inclusive research; with a focus on practice-based clinical trials and re-designing pathways to improve patient outcomes.
