Research Programme Manager – Cancer Advanced Radiotherapy

Lois has been involved in biomedical research since she began postgraduate research in 2013. Lois completed both her PhD (Human Genetics) and MSc (Molecular Medicine) at the University of Leeds and has a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences from the University of Exeter. Lois joined the Nanomedicine lab at the University of Manchester as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in 2018 and in 2020 moved to a hybrid research and project management role within the lab. During her postdoctoral research, Lois collaborated closely with the Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute.

Lois joined the Targeted Therapy group in 2022 as a Research Project Manager and is responsible for setting up and co-ordinating translational and early phase research projects within Radiotherapy Related Research. As Project Manager of the Advanced Radiotherapy theme within the NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre, Lois is responsible for managing five research programmes: Precision Radiotherapy, Immune response to radiotherapy, Proton Therapy, Hypoxia Biomarkers and MR-Linac and functional imaging adaptation.
