Manchester BRC and CRF set to benefit from a prestigious Wellcome Trust award for public engagement

The Public Programmes Team at CMFT, which leads on Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) within the BRC and CRF, has secured a five year award from the Wellcome Trust Sustaining Excellence grant scheme following a rigorous and by invitation only review process.

Across the BRC and CRF our research will benefit from the knowledge, views and experiences of people and patients. We will involve patients and people towards more engaged and inclusive research, to ensure we meet everyone’s needs and focus on issues that matter to them.

The grant will enhance the PPIE work of the BRC and CRF, with a particular focus on social inclusion, partnerships with high-profile arts organisations across Greater Manchester, developing talent in PPIE, and contributing to the PPIE evidence base.
