Strategic Project Manager

Lynsey began training as a Biomedical Scientist in Cellular Pathology in 2002 at East Cheshire NHS Trust, completing her BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science in 2004. Moving on to AstraZeneca as an Associate Scientist in Safety Assessment, Lynsey achieved her MSc in Biomedical Science along with becoming a registered Fellow with Institute of Biomedical Sciences (IBMS).

From there, joining Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute in 2007 as a Senior Scientific Officer, Lynsey managed a portfolio of translational lung cancer studies, which underpinned the research identifying the utility and prognostic significance of Circulating Tumour Cell (CTC) and cfDNA monitoring in lung cancers.

Having joined the BRC in March 2023 as a Strategic Project Manager, her role is to provide management and support for the wider NIHR infrastructure initiatives, including Translational Research Collaborations (TRCs), the BioResource, implementing core funding calls along with embedding paediatric research within the BRC.
