Gareth started his NHS career in 2003 as a Clinical Trial Data Manager at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and moved on to be a Clinical Trial Coordinator for Lung Cancer and Melanoma covering all aspects of clinical trial application, approval and site set up of both commercially sponsored clinical trials and Trust sponsored academic studies. He later became a Clinical Trials Systems Specialist at Manchester Academic Health Science Centre (MAHSC) Clinical Trials Unit, where he designed and built systems and processes for all aspects of clinical research data management and analysis.

He is currently the NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) and NIHR Manchester Clinical Research Facility (CRF) Information and Data Management Lead, where he leads the Data Management Team to provide intelligence on the activity and performance of both the BRC and CRF as well as managing the portfolio data and data systems for both infrastructures.
