Be Vocal about research

There are many ways that you can have your say in research at the BRC. We want to involve people from a wide range of backgrounds and with different experiences to make sure that health research is relevant for everyone.

If you’d like to be kept up to date about opportunities please visit wearevocal.org, sign up for our newsletter, and follow us on Twitter or Facebook.

Here are some examples of how you can be involved.

Giving your views and opinions to researchers

If you have lived experience of a health condition you could help to develop research give your views and opinions to researchers at a patient discussion group or online.  There are also opportunities for carers and people without particular conditions to contribute.

Being a co-researcher

Sometimes there are opportunities to be more involved and work more closely with researchers to design, deliver and write up research findings.

Being a member of a governance group

We have two public members on the NIHR Manchester BRC Executive Group. These members attend and contribute to monthly meetings by championing the views and perspectives of the public.

Joining our projects

We also bring patients, researchers, carers, artists, scientists and others together to share their views and expertise and develop creative and innovative projects that reach wider audiences. For examples of these projects have a look at our website.

We look forward to hearing from you.
