Optimised assessment and diagnosis
Hearing loss is the most prevalent untreated sensory deficit in the UK and the third leading cause of years lived with a disability.
Currently there is a lack of audiological procedures that both seamlessly individualise diagnosis and guide treatment. By bringing together our strengths in electrophysiological, cognitive and behavioural technology we aim to develop individualised assessment and diagnosis to transform outcomes across the lifespan.
- Measure cognitive mechanisms underlying listening effort and fatigue in those with hearing loss to develop advanced clinical procedures to inform and guide personalised management
- Develop a hearing assessment tree to speed up and improve diagnosis, and most importantly, to allow for customised intervention and improved patient outcomes
