Psoriasis

Psoriasis affects more than 2 million people in the UK but is currently incurable. How can we improve treatment?

The skin disorder psoriasis can have a massive impact on a person’s life in terms of both physical and mental wellbeing.  We believe early intervention for people with severe psoriasis is the key to help lessen disease progression and improve disease management.

We are working towards discovering, refining and implementing novel, targeted treatment pathways to improve the management of psoriasis.

Through our research we are:

  • Establishing novel care pathways with early, targeted implementation of lifestyle management and appropriate therapy
  • Using biomarkers to predict response to traditional systemic therapies by exploring disease and treatment response
  • Using psoriasis genomics findings to develop new targets for treatment
