Our Research: Dermatology

Our aims

Our Dermatology research theme aims to:

  • Develop an integrated framework for characterising cellular and molecular processes that initiate and orchestrate skin inflammation and repair
  • Understand key inflammatory pathomechanisms that promote epithelial stem cell damage and epithelial-mesenchymal transition in human skin and hair follicles, and develop both preventive and therapeutic pharmacological intervention strategies
  • Use a P4 Medicine approach to prevent and predict disease progression and personalise treatment pathways for inflammatory skin disease and chronic wounds
  • Capitalise on powerful collaboration with industry and other dermatology centres
